The Aerodentia are a family that consists of creatures that tend to live in caves, and hate light. The family consists of three creatures: The Vehemoth Phosbat, the Phosbat, and the Phosbat Pod.
Vehemoth Phosbat[]
The Vehemoth Phosbat is the second boss of Pikmin 3. It is found in a cave in Distant Tundra. Around its arena, there are light bulbs with electric wires. Use your Yellow Pikmin to light up the bulbs. The Vehemoth Phosbat will be stunned once the lightbulb is lit. After two lightbulbs are up, the Vehemoth Phosbat will roar, and activate all Phosbat Pods. There is also a bridge that you have to make to get to the main lightbulb. Once that lightbulb is lit, the Vehemoth Phosbat will go to its second phase. You need to attack it. Once it is dead, it will hit the lightbulb and die. You get a Heroine's Tear, and unlock Captain Charlie.
Phosbat[]
The Phosbat is an enemy exclusive to Pikmin 3. It is first seen in the intro, where Charlie enters a mysterious cave. Once all the Phosbats are dead, you get a cutscene of him getting eaten by a mysterious figure.
They also appear in the Distant Tundra. They are found in the Phosbat Cave, and are allergic to light. There are glowing mushrooms around the arena, so you can use them to kill the Phosbats.
Phosbat Pod[]
The Phosbat Pod appears only in Pikmin 3, in which it can be found in the Distant Tundra, in the Phosbat Cave. Once they are active, they will spew out Phosbats. It is most needed to take them out. Once they are dead, they spew out nectar.
