The Bloomcap Bloyster is a slug-like organism. It has one shell on its back, surrounding the bud-like appendage growing on it. If threatened, it releases its shell upward, as a somewhat lacking mean of defense. It is closely related to the Toady Bloyster and Ranging Bloyster, being almost identical to both. They attack in a similar way as well, releasing a moderate amount of adhesive pseudopodia-like tentacles that impale Pikmin upon contact, which are then promptly consumed.

Notes[]
Dalmo's Notes[]
"With a peaked carapace and undulating mouth, it goes around cleaning up everything in its path. It’s the organic vacuum cleaner of the natural world. If you startle it, it opens up its top like an umbrella, which can be quite a surprise to whoever is watching!"
Olimar's Notes[]
"The origin species from which the Ranging and Toady Bloyster evolved, it still carries a shell on its back. The exposed head and legs are covered by a layer of tough muscle, so it barely moves when attacked. On the other hand, it has extremely sensitive flower-like gills that are characteristic of the Mollusking family. When the gills are touched, the Bloyster cannot breathe and must open its shell, exposing its soft body. Amphibious with a gentle demeanor, it simply swallows up anything that happens to enter its field of vision, kind of like a living vacuum cleaner."
Louie's Notes[]
"The fatty muscle that controls those undulating motions must be eaten fresh. All that quick movement means the meat toughens quickly."
Strategy[]
The fight with this enemy is relatively simple; auto-lock will most likely give you an easy aim to its weak point, and throwing Pikmin from there should result in a swift defeat. Its purple body is also vulnerable to attack, but is defended by its shell, so targeting it with Pikmin may only be a good idea when the shell is up in a defensive position. If only a small amount of Pikmin are on hand, using items from the Lab or Ultra-Spicy Spray may help defeat the creature.
