Pikmin Adventure
#7

Emperor Pinchipede >>

Blowhogs are rare enemies in Pikmin Adventure. They are very different from the other blowhogs in the "official" series, and they are mechanical like other enemies in Nintendo Land. They can vary in sizes, but are usually either big or small. They are spherical and have a wheel on top of their heads, possibly a propeller to keep it afloat.

Attack and Tells[]

Blowhog Spike NL

Blowhog about to attack

Unlike other kinds of blowhogs, it does not shoot water, fire or air. Instead, to attack, the blowhog's "snout" turns into a spike as it charges for a moment, and then dashes at the player in an attempt to ram them. While it charges, the wheel slides down behind it, and a spike emerges from it's snout and it glows yellow. After maybe two or so seconds, the blowhog will dash forward and attempt to crash into the player.

Burst the Giant Balloon[]

A large blowhog appears as this level's boss. It has the exact same attack pattern as a normal one, except this one has more health and is much bigger. The arena it is fought in is octangular in shape and three unkillable beebs roll around constantly as an obstacle.

Strategy and Tips[]

  • When the blowhog starts it's animation to shake off Pikmin, call back them back. If you don't, they could get run over by the beebs and die. This counts for Pikmin players especially.
  • Use the rocks from the ? mark blocks to either do extra damage as Olimar, or stun the beebs with them, as the blowhog cannot be stunned.
  • Take your time. Rushing will usually result in unessesary casualties. This is especially important for Pikmin players.
  • If the beebs keep hitting you, you can stand on the bricks that line the arena. Be aware that attacks can destroy the bricks.
  • Stay aware of the beebs. You might be run over if you aren't paying attention, so keep track of any close beebs.
