Crimson Candypop Buds are red Candypop Buds found in all four Pikmin games. When non-red Pikmin are thrown in, they will change into Red Pikmin. If Red Pikmin are thrown in, they will be reverted to leaf stages.
Mainline appearances[]
Pikmin[]
In Pikmin, one appears near the Analog Computer in The Forest Navel, where the player is encouraged to bring Yellow Pikmin and Blue Pikmin to collect the Analog Computer and then convert them into Red Pikmin to bring it back through the fire geysers in the area. Crimson Candypop Buds also appear in The Distant Spring and The Final Trial, alongside the other Candypop Bud types. Exclusively to this game, a Crimson Candypop Bud can be used up to 50 times to get massive amounts of Red Pikmin, but Red Pikmin themselves do count against the limit.
Pikmin 2[]
In Pikmin 2, Crimson Candypop Buds are relatively rare, with just five appearing in the game: three in Bulblax Kingdom and two in Hole of Heroes. Exclusively to this game, Crimson Candypop Buds do not count against the 5 Pikmin limit per Candypop Bud.
Pikmin 3[]
In Pikmin 3, five appear in the Distant Tundra and one appears in the Formidable Oak, with four more in the Formidable Oak Remix in Mission Mode.
Pikmin 4[]
In Pikmin 4, they appear in the Crackling Cauldron if no Red Pikmin are in the party when sublevel 2 is reached.
Crossover appearances[]
Super Smash Bros. Brawl[]
The Crimson Candypop Bud is the only Candypop Bud that appears as a Sticker in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It adds 12 attack power to any Pikmin attack.
Notes[]
To unlock the Piklopedia notes for a Candypop Bud, at least one Pikmin must be converted into a sprout from the corresponding type.
