Dandori

Dandori is the art of organizing tasks strategically and working effectively to execute a plan. It is a key concept in the Pikmin series, however not explicitly stated until the fourth game. The word "Dandori" comes from the Japanese word 段取り. It is roughly translated as "the procedure (for carrying out a plan)" or "the preparation (before carrying out a plan)".

As mentioned before, Dandori is a key concept in all the games, as they (especially the first and third game) require efficiency to be able to get as much done in as little time. In Pikmin, it is more important, as there is a time limit, and failing to utilise Dandori will lead to not getting many ship parts in enough time, and ultimately leading to the bad ending. Dandori is ultimately the least used in Pikmin 2, as prominent segments of the game (caves) do not experience the flow of time.

The word is most associated with Dandori Challenges and Dandori Battles, which require planning and efficiency for success.

Dandori is first mentioned by Shepherd during your first day exploring the Sun-Speckled Terrace. Upon hearing it, you show confusion, prompting Collin to elaborate on the term, referring to it as a "core tenet" of the Rescue Corps.

The Dandori Level of a Dandori Challenge is how hard a Dandori Challenge or Battle is.
