An electric gate in the Sun-Speckled Terrace in Pikmin 4
Electric gates are a type of gate appearing in Pikmin 2, Pikmin 3, and Pikmin 4. They carry a current of electricity, and Yellow Pikmin are the only type that can make contact with electric gates and destroy them without undergoing any side effects.

In Pikmin 2, if any Pikmin type other than Yellow Pikmin touch an electric gate, they die. If a leader touches an electric gate, they take only some damage.
In Pikmin 3, electric gates require less effort to destroy, and if Pikmin types other than Yellow touches an electric gate, they are temporarily paralyzed.
In Pikmin 4, electric gates are first seen in the Sun-Speckled Terrace. The first possible opportunity to destroy electric gates is in the Crackling Cauldron, because it is one of the locations where Yellow Pikmin can be discovered for the first time. In one of his messages, Collin guesses that Yellow Pikmin are capable of destroying electric gates, relaying the fact to the player. Electric gates come in varying widths, depending on the width of the path it is blocking.
