Frosty Bulborbs are a type of Bulborb that grows ice on back to protect itself from threats. The skin is a light blue with dots under the ice. It is the mature version of the Dwarf Frosty Bulborb. It will freeze Pikmin, The Captain, and Oatchi on contact (Except Ice Pikmin, or if the player and Oatchi have thermal protection)

"A creature that thrives in the coldest climates, its ice-coated haunches shimmer like a living jewel in the frigid air. You can admire the way it sparkles to your heart's content, but don't get too close! You'll get frosty-frozen on the spot if you touch it!"

"A Bulborb with large amounts of ice and frost covering its midsection. It's unusual to find ice such as this attached to a living organism, as it's cold enough to freeze small animals and regenerates any ice mass that gets broken off. This Bulborb species's intercellular stores of sugars, amino acids, and organic acids provide it with a plantlike resistance to freezing, making it possible for the Bulborb to touch the ice without freezing itself."
