The 2 Golden Long Legs are the final bosses of the Pikmin 3 Deluxe Side Story Olimar's Comeback. They are encountered in the Plasm Wraith's arena in Formidable Oak. One is a golden version of Baldy Long Legs, and is defeated normally. The other is a golden Shaggy Long Legs, albeit with bigger feet than usual.
Appearance[]
They appear identical to their normal versions, with the only difference being the golden coloration.
Strategy[]
Any strategy for the typical Baldy Long Legs can apply, but the Shaggy Long Legs' larger feet make it much easier to lose Pikmin. It is advisable to use all four Rock Candypop Buds at the start of the mission to gain as many Rock Pikmin as possible, and then charge them at its feet without any other types of Pikmin around for a safe first half of the battle. Afterwards, non-Rock Pikmin must be used to attack the boss, preferably a small group to minimise chance of losses. Yellow Pikmin can be used to attack the boss directly without climbing its legs, but Reds offer a higher damage output. Either type can be argued as more apt for the situation, but Yellows may ultimately result in a more efficient victory due to the lack of any contact with the Long Legs' feet whatsoever. Additionally, ensure that only one boss is active at a time. Each has a different activation trigger, so walk into the arena, then cause one to appear and stay close to it while in-battle so as to not awake the other. It is advisable not to take Pikmin into the arena when activating the beasts, as they may get crushed in their sudden fall to the ground.
