The Last-Frost Cavern is the first cave accessed in the Sun-Speckled Terrace in Pikmin 4. Its entrance is located behind the first dirt wall in the Sun-Speckled Terrace. The Last-Frost Cavern has only one sublevel, similarly to the Burrow of Beginnings.

The Last-Frost Cavern is where Ice Pikmin are encountered for the first time. Five Ice Pikmin are first seen fighting the Snowy Blowhog. It is also where Russ can be found, just before the exit. Being one of the earlier caves, the Last-Frost Cavern has only a few simple obstacles, including a paper bag needing ten Pikmin to weigh down, nine breakable pots, and two hydro jellies, the only obstacle of Last-Frost Cavern requiring Ice Pikmin to destroy, let alone any Pikmin type. Weighing down the paper bag is optional and only allows for treasures to be retrieved more quickly. Five more Ice Pikmin are located in one of the breakable pots.

A few enemies are encountered in the Last-Frost Cavern, including four Female Sheargrubs, two Male Sheargrubs, and the area's signature Snowy Blowhog, which also appears in the graphic of Olimar's Voyage Log entry.

The Last-Frost Cavern has two treasures, the Director of Destiny and the Refreshing Goo, which have a combined value of 190 Sparklium. Other items include a Flarlic and 19 raw materials, ten of which are located in a raw material pile.
