"Please don't call it a flying snowman! The sight of it flying around with its magnificent wings, scattering ice like diamonds, evokes thoughts of a snow sprite. Witness this beauty of nature, and let it soothe away all of your woes and anxiety."

"The cooling cycle in its body uses ammonia as a refrigerant to chill the moisture it absorbs from the air until it reaches a supercooled state. By then spraying it out of the several vents on its belly, the Snowfake Fluttertail creates a delicate cocoon out of ice to both protect itself and freeze it prey.
Its rolled up, spirally proboscis evolved from an upper jaw and can catch and tie up prey with the fine hairs on its surface.
Though it mimics a type of swallowtail butterfly, this creature is actually more closely related to moths. One might extrapolate that its ancient ancestor was unable to adapt to the cooling climate and therefore went extinct."

“Dice finely or purée to make a meaty sorbet. Add a tiny drizzle of fruit sauce for some punch! Pluck the wings and antennae beforehand to use as garnish if you want to get fancy.”
Strategy[]
To beat the snowflake fluttertail, you need to get fire. There are three fire starters. Two in the arena (with one of them being covered by Hydro Jelly), and one before the fight begins. Once you go near the torch on your right, the Snowfake Fluttertail shows up. You need a Red Pikmin to grab a fire starter. You must throw that pikmin at the fluttertail, and it will uncover its body. You must then throw your pikmin at it. When it is at half health, you need to get a red pikmin to grab a fire starter twice instead of once. After you defeat it, congrats.

The Snowfake Fluttertail is one of the only 9 bosses you fight only once in story mode (not counting Olimar's Shipwreck Tale or Trial of the Sage Leaf), Alongside Groovy Long Legs, Giant Breadbug, Foolix, Mammoth Snootwhacker, Puffstool, Titan Blowhog, Toxstool, and Ancient Sirehound.
