The Sun-Speckled Terrace is the first area in Pikmin 4, both in Story mode and in Olimar's Shipwreck Tale. It is a grassy, field-like area that has many features of a backyard or garden, with benches, bricks, and several gardening tools strewn about the place. There is some amount of water in the area, but not enough to allow for an abundance of aquatic creatures.
Story mode[]
Ice Pikmin are first encountered here. The Player Character can also have their first encounter with Yellow Pikmin and Blue Pikmin here, or in Crackling Cauldron and Blossoming Arcadia, respectively.
A Yellow Onion, a Blue Onion, and two Flarlic bulbs are located in the Sun-Speckled Terrace. There are 7 Rescue Corps members and 14 treasures, which have a collective total value of 1,140 Sparklium. Twenty additional treasures are located in caves of the Sun-Speckled Terrace, for a total of 34 treasures and 2920 Sparklium in value.
There are four bases: Ancient Arches, Rugged Scaffold, Meandering Slope, and Distant Summit. The Ancient Arches is the default base.

Obstacles[]
The Sun-Speckled Terrace mostly consists of basic obstacles that can taken on by any type of Pikmin or Oatchi, including a bag requiring ten Pikmin to weigh down, three paper bags, ten breakable pots, two dirt walls, and a potted plant.
Obstacles that can be taken on by Pikmin type includes one electric gate, requiring Yellow Pikmin, and two water bodies, requiring 20 and 30 Ice Pikmin each.
