Collin giving his spare Tablet to the Player Character in Pikmin 4
Tablets are devices in Pikmin 4 that members of the Rescue Corps use during rescue missions to share information more easily. For most of the game, it is the main menu accessed by pressing the + button, essentially functioning as the successor to the KopPad from Pikmin 3. The player can press the B button to switch been applications.
A Tablet is given to the Player Character by Collin moments after they first meet. The Tablet is a spare one that Collin carried with him, since he always keeps an extra one with him. The Tablet boots up to the Missions menu, where Collin informs the Player Character of its purpose. Collin says that he will add more apps to the Tablet later, after getting some rest. Besides Missions, the other three apps that the Player Character can access from this point include the Radar Map, which it always boots to on start up, the ID Badges, and History and Stats.
The first app unlocked for the Tablet is the Rescue Journal, followed by the Voyage Log, the Status Report, and lastly Gears and Skills.
