The Yellow Onion is a type of Onion from which Yellow Pikmin can be produced. It appears in all four mainline games of the Pikmin series.

In Pikmin, the Yellow Onion is the second Onion discovered, and it is found dormant in The Forest of Hope amidst several yellow Pellet Posies and free-standing yellow pellets.
Pikmin 2[]
In Pikmin 2, the Yellow Onion is once again the second Onion discovered. It is now located in the Perplexing Pool behind a poison-engulfed wall protected by a Fiery Bulblax, so White Pikmin and Red Pikmin are required to reach it. There are a few yellow Pellet Posies nearby which will not regrow once they've been harvested.
Pikmin 3[]
In Pikmin 3, the Yellow Onion is the third Onion discovered, this time by Brittany. She finds it in a cave in the Distant Tundra after the S.S. Drake crashed into a tree branch and she got flung out of the ship. Brittany can also find two Yellow Pikmin trying to conduct a circuit to power the Onion up while 3 more are buried in the ground. Once all five are flowing electricity to the Onion, the Onion is then powered up and can be used.
Pikmin 4[]
In Pikmin 4, two Yellow Onions can be found. The first can be found in the Sun-Speckled Terrace by the Meandering Slope. Head towards the body of water surrounding the Dandori Day Care and then turn around to find an entrance blocked by a bag. You'll need to throw 10 Pikmin to flatten it. Once you do, you'll need 20 Pikmin to carry it over to the Master Onion. The 2nd can be found in the Blossoming Arcadia by the Fragrant Ravine. Go Northeast from the ship and keep going right until you find a bag to push with 10 Pikmin, making an easy path back to base. Then turn around to find the Yellow Onion on a ledge. Dig it up and carry it back with 20 Pikmin. The 2nd Onion you bring back will only give twenty new Yellow Pikmin.
