The Zirconium Rotor is a ship part of the S.S. Dolphin in Pikmin. It is one of twenty-five ship parts that are mandatory to collect, although it does not affect the S.S. Dolphin's appearance.
Mainline Appearance[]
Pikmin[]
The Zirconium Rotor is located in The Distant Spring, in the same area as the Gluon Drive. To retrieve the Zirconium Rotor, the first step is for Olimar to have six Yellow Pikmin use Bomb Rocks to destroy a reinforced gate. Two nearby Yellow Wollyhops can be defeated to clear the path forward. With at least thirty Blue Pikmin, Olimar must command them to knock down a wooden gate and carry back the part. If the reinforced wall is not dismantled, the Pikmin may also carry it behind the complex of tree stumps and enter the landing site through the backside. However, the other way is quicker, but only helps with recovering the Zirconium Rotor, while the other route is used in recovering many other pieces.
In both the Discovery Notes and Ship Log, the Zirconium Rotor is said to be made of rust-proof Zirconium. The Ship Log also describes the Zirconium Rotor as appearing new, despite being left out in the planet's environment.
Notes[]
Discovery Notes[]
"It's my Zirconium Rotor!
This is made from rust-proof zirconium, which is particularly suited to making spaceship parts. I had to pay a lot extra to have this installed, and I suspect the mechanic overcharged me."
Ship Log[]
"Made of rust-proof zirconium, it is as shiny as new, despite being left out in this planet's harsh elements."

Trivia[]
- In real life, Zirconium is a gray-white transition metal, which resembles titanium. It is also highly resistant to corrosion, just like it was as described in the game.
